Client Design Project: Zoom Scool Bike
In my Interactive Design class, we had our very first opportunity to work with a partner as a fake ‘client.’ What was so different and interesting about this assignment, was the prompt for the whole 8-week course: “design something for your client.” This was the first time I had ever gotten an assignment that was completely up to me. Through an extensive process, we got to know our partners on a deeper level through different interviews inside the classroom and outside in places we felt safe and at home like walking around campus or at Starbucks, to figure out what exactly they’re missing in life that we could help design for them. Basically, we had to find an issue in their life and fix it through design!
Interview Notes:

From these interviews, we created 3 different Mind Maps, or explorative mood boards, that helped us explore three different directions of words that were important to our ‘client’. Here, I chose the words Balance, Family, and Healthy Living.
I decided to focus on the healthy living aspect of life and was able to pose the question: How can Miranda (my partner) find a way to stay energized throughout the day in school when she’s not able to work out?
From there, we brainstormed ideas and sketched mockups of our design before finalizing with texture and colors for a final render.
